The Full Story

Let me take you on a little tour of my story:

It all started with a love and fascination I have with people around me and an intense need to understand them, leading me to pursue Psychology for my undergraduate degree. Fast forward to my days as a counsellor in adult education—while my clients explored the complexities of adulthood, I see that their early experiences held the key to understanding their present. Eager to deepen my understanding, I pursued a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology, improving my grasp of psychological principles and enhancing my support for clients as they explore different stages of their life in therapy.

Since then, I’ve been in different roles—psychologist, teacher, trainer, and therapist. Cultivated by global travels, ongoing training, heaps of enlightening reading, and close connections with people, my journey continued. Through my experiences, I learned that there is no one-size-fits-all theory or approach. We are all unique, responding to our experiences in our own way.

I wanted to understand the core of how theories and approaches are developed so I could move through them with an open eye and critical mind. Wanting to develop the skill to be flexible and bring what is relevant and fitting to my clients. Earning a Master’s degree in Development Research in Social Science was a natural step of that commitment.

Now, as a therapist, I draw from this knowledge to understand how your individual experiences are unique to you, and so is the approach to explore them. Currently, I am deep into my third year of a four-year Gestalt Therapy training, grounding my approach in a present-focused and humanistic approach. Through the lens of Gestalt theory, we will explore the now, understanding your thoughts and feelings to foster self-awareness and positive changes.
